- Request Form for Nurse Aide Continuing Education Modules
The North Carolina Division of Facility Services introduces seven
continuing education modules for nurse aides, which are available for
the first time on CD-ROM. The modules were designed primarily for the
nursing assistant who has already completed a basic nurse aide course
of instruction and is currently working in a skilled nursing facility.
- Long-Term Care in North Carolina
The N.C. Department of Health and Human Services has a lead role in the
design and delivery of services for older adults and people with
disabilities. This site gives individuals, families, providers and
other visitors access to information about the department’s work in
support of long-term care.
- National Survey of Direct Care Workforce Initiatives
The North Carolina Office of Long-Term Care collaborated with the
Paraprofessional Healthcare Institute to compile updated information
about what actions states are taking to address shortages of direct
care workers.
- Direct Care Alliance
The
Direct Care Alliance was founded in 1998 to improve the quality of care
by creating higher quality jobs for direct care workers. A coalition of
consumers, workers and providers, the Direct Care Alliance believes
direct care workers are the foundation of good care.
- National Clearinghouse on the Direct Care Workforce
The
National Clearinghouse on the Direct Care Workforce supports efforts to
improve the quality of jobs for frontline workers who assist people who
are elderly and/or live with disabilities.
- Paraprofessional Healthcare Institute
The
Paraprofessional Healthcare Institute focuses on innovative approaches
to recruitment, training, and supervision of direct care workers;
caregiving practices centered around consumers; and effective public
policy.
- The Pioneer Network
The Pioneer Network is a grassroots movement to change and transform the culture of aging in America.
- Institute for the Future of Aging Services
The
Institute for the Future of Aging Services is a policy research
institute within the American Association of Homes and Services for the
Aging. Its mission is to link the practice, policy and research
communities to advance the development of high-quality health, housing
and supportive services for America’s aging population.
